... hmm, how many women have the choice (to publicly humiliate)
trollish/creepy online behaviour ? For example, how would we know that
"person A" is having this problem. As its not appropriate to complain
on mailing lists, unless "person A" decides to blog about it, and
unless he/she is an Ubuntu member their blog is not aggregated on the
planet. See what I mean....Barriers still exist (not to mention all
the time wasted in dealing with this).

What consequences ? Does Ubuntu have a policy where the person (if an
Ubuntu member) is reprimanded or stripped of membership. What action
do we take in such cases. It is a serious issue and by then the women
(who dont want to waste more time by going to the CC, may have to do
more explaining and prove their case) have already gone.

FWIW, I dont see this behaviour stopping anytime soon but I would like
to see these issues being addressed as a community effort instead of
leaving the individual to grapple with it alone. Do we have a way to
address such issues? .... Currently, the answer is a resounding NO.

At the risk of going OT, on the web people can harass women using fake
id's. Its difficult to stop that but we can reduce it in our community
by defining what is inappropriate behaviour and how it affects a
project and is detrimental to growth.

I had prepared this draft[0] last year and Jacinta has improved it
greatly. I had written to Jono about this earlier and would like to
see something concrete come out of this discussion.
