Hi all,
I'm sure quite a few people use https://shipit.ubuntu.com to
make requests. Now while shipping a request it gives something like :-

    * 3 CDs requested on 2007-04-11. 3 CDs were approved and sent to
the shipping company on 2007-04-14. Please note requests usually take
from 4 to 6 weeks to deliver, depending on the country of shipping.

Now going forward would it be possible to have some kind of
consignment no. or something. I do understand that there would be some
cost associated with that but there is also a possibility of making a
big consignment (country-wise) and then breaking that consignment into
little consignments when they reach the country-per se. The idea is
simply so people have slightly more accurate idea as to when they can
expect the package.

I don't have any idea how the logistics/packaging/courier industry
works but just an idea. Please lemme know if its feasible ?
