And/or good personal standing, which you get if you've been a good  
mailing list citizen.

Also, community helpers who are approving various things (e.g. mailing  
lists) sometimes need to contact users.

That makes sense.  I wouldn't want too much text on that page, but we  
can get Matthew Revell to suggest something reasonable.
