sending replies to bug via e-mail

Hi all,
 I remember few months back somebody asking about doing replies on bug
via e-mail and somebody had given a way although which required few
hoops before this could be done which kinda put me off to do the same.

Has the situation improved?

This may be apples to oranges but in Debian I just need to do
somebugnumber at debian.org and that's it.
