And here's a reply I accidentally sent off list (accursed gmail!),
should anyone else care about building mono apps on x86-64 in a PPA:
This will be a bug[1] I reported about a month ago. Something changed
in the buildd environment that broke mono on amd64. My changelog
entries pin it down to somewhere between the 11th of August and the
23rd of August.
