Title:
Manual partitioning fails on BIOS installs for Calamares-based flavors

Status in calamares package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Using Lubuntu ISO 20250417. Manual partitioning works on UEFI devices
but not on BIOS. Both an old Acer TravelMate and a VM with BIOS will
not boot from the newly-installed system. Not yet sure what's going
on, though the VM seems to suggest that the install ISO still needs to
  be present.
