vlc works - gnome-mplayer & audacious nicht

Thanks to your help i got working sound on this powerbook! 
Unfortunately, there are still issues with gnome-mplayer and audacious.

VLC reads and plays flawlessly any audio cd.

With audacious, i'm getting the following error:

ALSA error: snd_mixer_attach failed: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden.

Ungültige URI cdda://sr0/Track%201.wav.
---

(translation: Did not find file or directory. Invalid URI 
cdda://sr0/Track%201.wav)

With gnome-mplayer, i do not get any specific error, at least not in the 
gui, but trying to play track results in: Playing track stopped.

Any ideas in regard?
