SPDIF out on X61s

Hi all,

I  have a laptop lenovo x61s. Is has no spdif out connector.

This laptop has as audiochip the AD1984

Pin 48 from that chip has spdif out. From that pin I connected a coax cable (via 0.1 uf condendator) to an external dac.

In lubuntu 13 audacious (alsa) sees the analog and DIGITAL ad1984 and works ok.

In lubuntu 14 (15)  audacious (alsa) does not see the DIGITAL ad1984, it only sees the analog AD1984.
( I tried a lot of things to get it working without succes.)

I think that lubuntu 14 (15) is platform aware. 
(On a laptop T61, that has an spdif out connector on the docking station, Lubuntu 13, 14 and 15 all see the AD1984 digital and analog)  

Is there a solution in lubuntu 14 (15) to override this platform awareness (bios read out ?)
