Nio:

According to the information below, Xubuntu 16.04 should work on that 
machine (933 megahertz, i815 graphics, 512 meg RAM).

However, Xubuntu 16.04 also boots to a blank screen on that machine, so 
I doubt the change you requested to try will work.

Lubuntu 15.04 and Xubuntu 15.04 are the last systems to work on that 
machine.  The 15.10 live USB's booted to a blank screen on that machine, 
so I didn't attempt to install 15.10 (either Lubuntu or Xubuntu).

Where 16.04 (Lubuntu and Xubuntu) live USB systems also booted to a 
blank screen, there was no point in installing those systems either.
