I installed it with:

	snap install --devmode --stable maas

and then did

	maas init --mode all

snap list shows

	maas  2.2.1-6078-g2a6d96e-snap  207   maas       devmode

maas status returns

bind9                            RUNNING   pid 2705, uptime 5:39:51

maas config returns

Mode: all
Settings:
maas_url=http://maasmaster.andrews.edu/MAAS

I have just removed all of the apt-get maas related packages and am
rebooting.  I am still pretty new to snap packages.
