There seems to be a significant performance regression crept into the 
Mir code this week:
   https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1249210

Fortunately it happened after 0.1.1 so that release is not affected.

It looks like quite a nontrivial problem to solve, and I'm just about 
out of time for the week.

Could someone please take a look? And of course, please don't do a 
release of 0.1.2 until it's fixed :)
