@Laney, For Oneiric, the current plan is to simply provide it and allow
people to make use of it with manual config changes - rather than
configuration at packaging level.

There is no plan to make this a core component of openstack this cycle,
and therefore not offically supported / Main this cycle - so tighter
integration cannot happen.

  authentication, but eventually supporting plug-in modules for identity
  storage (LDAP, DB, file, PAM, Active Directory, etc...), protocols
  (SAML, OAUTH, OpenID, etc...), and necessary middleware to support
  integration with OpenStack core, affiliated, and compatible services."
