It is indeed abandoned. I have asked the creator the glossary,
Michael Twomey, way back to 2003. His reply is attached below:

Sorry I've been so quiet on the issue, I saw the start of the thread on
this but was too busy to respond.
To the best of my knowledge this glossary isn't used by Sun anymore and
I'm not aware of anyone else who uses it.
This is a pity as I started it in the hope that it might grow to
something quite useful, we put a bit of effort into analysing GNOME to
find common terms. Unless it is maintained though it is pretty much
useless :(
I think the terms maintained by the GNOME doc team will be more useful
and more relevant. Perhaps in future it might be possible to resurrect
the idea of a translation reference glossary but at the moment it isn't
a lot of use.
