Spread linode backend

[Max Brustkern]

I'm attempting to use the spread linode backend with this system stanza, as
described in the documentation:
backends:
    linode:
        key: $(HOST:echo $LINODE_API_KEY)
        systems:
            - 'ubuntu-16.04'
I'm getting this error:
