well, we surely do have the right modules enabled ...
snd-bcm2835.ko is definitely there in the rpi kernel package ... 

but snd.ko seems to be compiled in ... i assume this combo wont work,
my guess would be that either both have to be compiled in or both have
to be modules ...

(i'll look into this and talk to paolo about it)
