Hi all,

I've managed to convert the KVM image to a vmware vmdk file by installing
the qemu-kvm package on Ubuntu 14.04 and running the following command:

qemu-img convert filename.img -O vmdk filename.vmdk

The resulting vmdk image was then successfully used on vmware fusion to run
the Ubuntu Core vm.
