node.js ARM runtime

So, for what follows please pardon and note my almost complete
ignorance about building/compiling :)
I want to tinker with nodejs on snappy, I run snappy as a vm on a Mac
and not a bbb which means the arm build won't work, right? What are
the steps to create a snappy runtime for nodejs in x64? How/where/can
I get the tools to do that?
