Trusty SD card so that I could use deb2snap... only because I thought that
would be easier.

great. So I should be able to install the mir snap, and create and install
a kodi snap myself so that it uses SDL2, and it should just work? If so,
excellent... that would be much neater than relying on deb2snap.
