Not really; it's essentially the same thing that's been said all along: the
applet should be there, but if the user doesn't have the hardware, it should
be hidden.

Right.  I wasn't proposing that the applet should be added if the user
removed it, but that it should be available on the system in the event that
the user's hardware configuration changes.
