installation of nvidia drivers

Because the set of drivers for which the "nvidia" driver is appropriate
for is the exact same set that the free "nv" driver is appropriate for.

So you'd need some "if the non-free driver is available, prefer it"
logic, which defeats the entire purpose of putting the driver into any
kind of restricted place anyway and you might as well just ship the
thing.

Unless there are a few cards which only the nvidia driver supports?  I
haven't heard of any though, iirc they're usually slower than X upstream
to release new card support.
