No, this what we'll go for:

  - items will be mounted sync and noexec, which should mean that 
yanking a vfat device causes minimal trouble
  - if we have time, we'll put a notifier which allows for unmounting 
these devices from the panel
  - items will be accessible through the computer icon, where they can 
be unmounted
