Hi,

to check some ISDN stuff, I tried to install the 20040910 CD on an older
Pentium III system, without much success. The kernel did freeze more
than one time during the installation. A Debian 3.0 installer did
install sucessfully on this system. Trying to test at least on USB ISDN
adapter, I did another install on a notebook. Remarks below.

Unofficial i386 Binary-1 (20040911)

- select German as locale, next menu has the default on Belgium,
hey guys, that's the same as Nigeria as the default for English!

- installation of the base system: "unpacking" not translated

- I'm asked on which device I want to install grub (hard disk
has existing partitions, which I kept), didn't try this on a fresh
  disk.

- dialog Finish installation (before reboot). heading is German,
dialog text is english (For stage of installation is complete).

- after restart, the X selector doesn't detect my laptop 1600x1200
screen resolution (Nvidia chip, GeForce4 440 Go).

- the font for the gdm login is tiny (where you type in username and
password), a bigger one would be better

- sound does not work, rhytmbox complains about a missing /dev/dsp.
   Colin hinted me on #1166.

- the icons on the top for Firefox, Evolution, Help look a bit pressed,
the look better with a bit more whitespace between them.

- I found it irritating to find the email application in the "Office"
section,
but all other internet related stuff in "Internet". Maybe not important
as it can be started from the panel as well.
