optusnet.com.au host mirrors of debian, redhat, fedora, cpan & sourceforge.
The mirror admin apparently hangs about on #slug on freenode. I'm sure one of
the Sydney contingent knows them.
Though it's not a fully public mirror, I know that Internode may be able to
host a mirror of ubuntu for all their users. Their mirror is effectively free
(cost) for all their users. As a customer (thru work), I can always put in a
request for them to sync a mirror, preferably if they can pull an initial
copy from somewhere cheap for them to access. If they get enough requests,
they'll add it.
And I know of a few other sites that while bandwidth isn't a problem, space
might be. I'll ask about.
