I was asleep at the kbd when I read that:-((

One of the things I don't like about bugzilla is the fact it uses http. 
I can't report bugs unless I'm online.

Teaching the script to speak smtp shouldn't be too hard, though it 
_does_ require working mail.

Which reminds me. What's this deadletter sitting in / after a U install?
