What package(s) are needed to install ATI support ?

My test machine has (old) ATI graphics, and I can filch for the exercise 
a 9200 SE (which is not supported for framebuffer in the kernel code 
Iwas looking at a while ago, 2.6.8 I think). I' intend to boor Knoppix 
on that box, to see what happens. It does not play nice with Woody.
