On woody?
It would not work for me with the standard Woody kernel and standard
Woody cdrecord. I ended up installing new cdrecord and kernel from
backports, then when I modprobed ide-scsi it worked.
I forget the model, but it's an LG and does DVD-{+,-,RAM}
I didn't try dvdrecord.
In contrast, on current RHL I would expect kudzu to pop up,organise
symlinkes and grub.conf, modules.conf etc and I could have got on
burning CDs and DVDs.
I won't guess whether it would have worked with RHL 7.3 (2.4.28 kernel),
but it might have; RH may have fixed that up while 7.3 was supported.
One of the CDs I burned is wartylive, so I could see whether that
detects it and sets it up properly.
