Of course that would be great. Even in a couple of days. A build on amd64
would be nice too:
apt-get source xfree86
apt-get build-dep xfree86
wget http://people.no-name-yet.com/991_ubuntu_update_nv_driver_from_xorg.diff
move the patch into debian/patches
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -uc -us -B -b
[SNIP]
everything will build but you will get an error on install for a MANIFEST
file check failed (given that the driver will compile on ppc). Otherwise
report the error.
No phear.. the driver is compiled but there are no debian packages.
your nv_drv.o is in build-tree/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/free86/driver/nv/
Take that file ans proceed as i described in the previous email.
