I forgot about that Matthew, thanks for your help. Yes it hibernates and
suspends to ram happily - on the oqo linux site they explain how to turn
it on and how to change the action of the button and turn off suspend
when sliding in the screen (same acpi signal as shutting lid on a
laptop).
