Hm, I somehow decided your post contained some humour regarding
*nix dirs and tried to rebutt it, sort of.  Sorry if it didn't
work out, of course no offense both to developers and those users
who *are* overwhelmed by underthehoodlings intended.

Regarding Nautilus, last time I've seen that and looked up
applish misfeatures it was rather heavy with (disclaimer: 
I happen to like MacOS classic, too) *and* how the already
existing bugreports were handled by upstream, it's not like
worth it until either the team change[sd] or its mind does.

I don't remember the exact details although grepping the archive
might help.

Thanks; I guess you'd be more careful with stuff like "ugly /dev"
in presence of such a hostile troll. :-) [happening to moderate 
similar list... oh well]

Seriously, it's quite subjective (I've read down the thread, np :),
and you knew using the word "ugly" isn't very productive, too.
