Ah. :-) The point is not to get loads of profit in high sales, the point
is to OFFER it in the first place. It adds to the desirability factor of
the OS as a whole. Apple does this very well.
Suppose Apple had OS X on offer as a free download, would you at least
take a look at it how it ran? Bet you would. :) The more expensive and
exclusive it is, the better. High price, long waiting list, no
problem. :-)
Of course if they WOULD sort out production and sales issues and have it
at a competitive-ish price and they sell a lot of it, then that would be
good, too. :)
