No. The situation here is pretty complicated :)

There are two classes of Prism54 devices - fullmac and softmac. Softmac 
cards have less RAM. As a result, they run a slimmed-down firmware that 
requires the host to carry out more tasks. This provides increased 
flexibility, but at the cost of taking up system resources[1].

All Prism54s can be run with the softmac firmware and driver, but it's 
preferable to use the fullmac one on cards which support it. The problem 
arises due to the fact that some softmac cards have identical PCI IDs to 
fullmac ones. As a result, blacklisting is basically impossible.

[1] Also, the softmac driver is quite a lot younger and not as fully 
featured yet
