So? Why is this a problem in software? Look at the car market:
* All cars are derived from earlier cars
* Some brands have only existed for a few years and *gasp*
implement the same UI!
* It's sometimes hard to tell a Lexus from a Mercedes or BWM
because of extremely similar design features
I understand that Mercedes would like to be the only premium brand on
the planet. And VW the only mainstream brand. But they aren't. MS is a
young company, they will get used to it, too ;)
