cutting up a post

Been reading the fcc Internet thread as it has evolved and have
noticed a trend. A person goes to the trouble to write a half page
post that is interdependent on ever statement and line in its make up to
make a point. Then someone else chops it into individual lines or
statement and writes a scathing comment on each part of it. This is
only a method to discredit the writer. It is not a comment on the
original post but instead a misleading, attack that adds nothing of
substance to the argument. Where is the thinking and adding of
thoughts to a subject, where are the ideas. I find this a laziness on
the part of the chopper and commenter. A person with integrity ,it
seems to me might put on their thinking cap and post their opinion so
that all may read both opinions and make a decision as to what they
consider as legitimate.
You guys do realize that when a person writes something it is
automaticly copyrighted and no one has a right to change it. They do
have a right to comment on it. This of course is irrelevant in the case
of what we are writeing here it is worthless so who would take this to a
court.
It may be that by writing here we have agreed that our copyrighted
work may be published here under creative commons I don't know I have
not read what we agree to when posting. It would seem common curtisy
dictates that you not destroy another's work in order to discredit
him. This practice promote argument not discourse.
                                                         Doug
