Only that it's Gnome 2 based rather than Gnome 3 based.

XFCE's long not been markedly more efficient than Gnome. I gather than
the official states of these alternative distros are basically down to
developer activity. It's not as if they truly are entire distros, it
just requires having a team willing to maintain a set of $DE packages
for Ubuntu.
