I'm running Ubuntu 12.04, LDAP, autofs and have this problem. I tried
#62. It seemed to work at least partially. I was able to complete login
some of the time but not all the time. I tried #5 but that didn't seem
to make a difference. #14 at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1526520&page=2 suggests adding
"nolock" to the automount / NFS mount options. I tried that and up to
now that seems to do the trick.
