I can confirm, 12.04 clean install, followed guide from http://signalboxes.net/howto/linux/ldap-client/
LDAP Server = Snow Leopard
Mounted homefolders using fstab (from Snow Leopard Server via NFS)
Reboot
Symptom:
Login screen seems to accept LDAP Users login and pass but simply returns to login screen after pause.
Solution (temporary and unacceptable for production)
1. If I log in a local user and then log out again my LDAP user can log in OK at the desktop until next reboot.
2. If I log an LDAP user in via terminal (using putty from my PC) all
seems to be OK plus, then the desktop login works.
#56 worked on first reboot now reverted back to problem.
About to systematically try others but I thought it worth adding mine to
the list.
