The a11y-profile-manager implements a more modular approach to managing
accessibility profiles, something which we have had on the Ubuntu
desktop image for a while now, but has only been available at install
time. This library allows these profiles to be available at install
time, but also for an installed system, allowing the user to change
profiles post install, or for a new account if desired.
The supporting code in casper and ubiquity was landed prior to FFE, and
the a11y-profile-manager package was in the queue prior to feature
freeze.
The library and binaries are all written in vala, the code is self
contained, and is essentially a wrapper around GLib GSettings. The only
thing that comes close to a daemon is the indicator, which will not be
enabled by default, but will be run during install time, and whenever
the user chooses to enable it or when a profile enables it.
As author of the code, I am subscribed to bugmail for the package and
project.
