Hi Øyvind,

Jason Grieves has been discussing how to get full screen magnification 
with composite support working in ubuntu. See this forum thread: 
http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=275118

With a reasonably new screen card you should get full screen 
magnification working with tracking and inverse function (not sure if 
that can be switched on the fly though).
