Hi Henrick
Thanks for your response. Had a quick glance through the various themes on
these 2 sites - there are a couple which look like they offer a contrast -
ie a darkish background with a lightish script - but nothing appears to give
the monochrome effect I am looking for, nor the increase in text size.
I admit that I just tuype away at this particular screen as no doubt most
people do, but as you will appreciate from someone who has a visual
impairment it gets a bit tricky when you can't remember what you have just
typed in, or you have used the wrong credentials!

There are several alternative login themes available here:
http://art.gnome.org/themes/gdm_greeter/
http://www.gnome-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=150
though I don't know if any of them are large font, high contrast. If
not, we should have one made I think.
