Ubuntu cd hangs

 I own a system with the following configuration

Intel Pentium2 processor 399mhz
128MB ram, 20GB hard disk.

I used the UBUNTU 6.10 live cd for installing ubuntu on my hard disk.  I am
unable to install UBUNTU because the cd hangs with a brown screen after the
essential drivers are loaded. Kindly suggest a way to install UBUNTu in my
system
