I need more information to be able to help.  What was involved in 
"today's update" for you?  Was is Feisty?  Was it Orca?  If it was Orca, 
was it from the trunk or from the gnome-2-18 branch?  Did you change 
anything else?

In addition, what specific actions do you use to launch the device manager?
