When you find yourself using Windows for just one or two apps you might 
consider installing it as a VitrualBox instance. If you pick an older a 
lighter version like Win 2000 it should run quite well alongside your 
other apps. See: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/VirtualBox for install 
instructions. (yes, we need a native OCR solution too, but for the 
meantime this may be a solution).
