greetings,
I just recently switched from Ubuntu 7.10 to Ubuntu 8.04 on my test machine. I'm trying to get the accessible login working. I know I got it working with 7.10, but I'm not sure what I'm missing.
I copied the relevant lines from /etc/gdm/gdm.conf (the doccumentation needs to be updated, it says the files are in /etc/X11/gdm) to the corrisponding location in /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom.
I uncommented the "AddGtkModules" line and set it to true. I also uncommented the "GtkModulesList=Gail,Act-bridge,AccessKeyMouseEvents,AccessDwelMouseEvents" line.
I also added ",gdm" to the "audio" line in /etc/groups.
I ran the commands
sudo gdmflexiserver --command="UPDATE_CONFIG daemon/AddGtkModules"
sudo gdmflexiserver --command="UPDATE_CONFIG daemon/GtkModulesList"
In /etc/gdm/modules/AccessKeyMouseEvents, it says holding CTRL+s for 1 second should start orca at the login, but I can't get it to work. I tried changing the duration from 1000 to 0 milliseconds and still could not get orca to speak at login. Orca works automatically post-login.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Was I supposed to change from GtkGreeter to the simpler GTKLogin? Is there something I'm missing?
