9.04 and libaccess-bridge-java

Hi all,
According to output of the command apt-cache, the version of the package 
libaccess-bridge-java is 1.24.0.

I've two questions:
1) This will be upgrade?
2) Although the version is 1.24, this can run in 9.04 since 9.04 uses 
gnome 1.26?

I am asking because I am trying run a java application in my 9.04 and I 
am receiving erros related to java access bridge. I don't know if the 
erros are related to the version of libaccess-bridge-java or related to 
the application.
