Using Multiple Boot Partitions with Speech

I am blind and considering installing Ubuntu on my PC as a separate
partition in addition to Windows XP Pro (which is currently installed on the
PC).

 

Since I rely on speech output to tell what is on the screen, I am wondering
if there is any facility for hearing the boot options which are presented
when restarting the PC. so that I can boot into the desire partition (i.e.,
either Windows or Ubuntu).
