Volume at 0 when booting the Oneric/Precise CD's

I've noticed that when I boot an install CD for Oneric or Precise, the
sound volume is set to 0. Because of this, I never hear the drums and
know when to press control+s to start Orca. I'm able to use my system's
media keys after I wait long enough to raise the volume and then I can
start Orca. I opened up the following bug in LaunchPad to track this
