I copied my favorites folder from my XP computer and pasted it into the desktop. When I open one of the links, for my web eMail page, FireFox keeps opening tabs, like over 30 tabs, and all I hear repeating from Orca is Firefox about It repeats that for every tab it opens. I go to close it and FireFox asks me if I want to close all the number of tabs it has opened. If I open FireFox from the desktop, it is okay, it goes to my home page. Is there a reason that I cannot use URLs copied from Windows? Thanks. Next I tried a fresh install of Ubuntu Gnome, which I gather is like the vanilla Ubuntu but with Unity swapped for Gnome. This version is supposed to offer better performance from what I have read. The install went fine, and I get speech at the logon screen. But once logged in, the only speech I get is the word "Window" when I press the super key to open the dash, and I get no speech when navigating around the desktop. If I do Ctrl+Alt+T to open the terminal I get speech, but that's about the only place where speech works. Any ideas? Could this be a graphics driver issue? You normally get the sound of the drums on the standard Ubuntu boot, but I don't think Ubuntu Gnome has the drums so there's no audable indication of when the OS is ready. I suggest you install the unity-greeter package, and use that as your preferred lightdm greeter, as that has accessibility support. I need to press alt-tab to come back to my doc. But it's not convinient on documents with a lot of titles, I exit my window and need to press alt-tab so much often. Why? I don't have the issue on Debian. Is this problem known? reproducted?
