gpodder and flatpak

I installed gpodder on an ubuntu drive.
It was installed by flatpak and I did this, thinking if flatpak would be used, then I would get the latest gpodder.
But after doing so, I got alerted a newer version is available.
When hitting yes, it took me to the same page where I had gotten the instruction as to installing with flatpak in the first place.
How may gpodder be updated once and for all?
