Can you give a complete list of normal build system?
I guess there must be Autotools.

The problem of Autotools is that itself is complicated to use, though
it may present a simple interface to users.

Another problem of Autotools is that it may not be well integrated
with IDEs. Anjuta supports it natively but Anjuta itself is not
popular even among GNOME developers. Eclipse has Autotools support to
some extent, I haven't tried yet.
