Hola Román, tenés varias alternativas, empezando por el ya venerable
sendmail...

swaks: swiss Army Knife SMTP; Command line SMTP testing, including TLS and
AUTH
smtpclient
putmail: a very lightweight MTA or SMTP client that may replace the sendmail
command
msmtp: a miny smtp client

Si tenés IP fija registrala en http://www.spamhaus.org/ porque sino Hotmail,
Yahoo, Gmail, etc. van a mandar los emails que reciban desde tu red a la
carpeta de spam de una.
Fijate en este link [0] los tips que dan para configurar correctamente los
mails que salgan de tu servidor.
